The THR project has established a media monitoring mechanism to identify and document human rights abuses as well as success stories. NNCJ members from 20 districts in Bangladesh participate in the media monitoring project by scanning local and mainstream media and submitting weekly reports for publication on the web portal. NNCJ district chapters receive a monthly allowance for purchase of subscriptions and communication costs related to this activity. Weekly and monthly results and reports of the monitoring are featured on the web portal. Annual reports of news and related analyses are printed and distributed to media outlets, educational institutions, civil society organisations (CSOs) and government agencies.
The THR project has developed the following methodology to monitor the print and electronic media in Bangladesh: Media Monitoring Methodology.
The project partners have been regularly observing and consolidating the information on the reports regarding human rights violation published on the national dailies since March 2010 . The reports are provided below: |
